Kindness Challenge No. 5

This year, to celebrate Wolfenoot season, I am posting a series of challenges aimed at focussing the energy of Wolfenoot on spreading kindness and light in the world.

This is the fifth, because sometimes you need to fill up your own cup.

I am well-known for making sure everyone around me is fed, and forgetting to eat. I make sure all the kids have sunblock, and then get burnt cos I didn’t sunblock myself. I try very hard to give everyone what they need, and I often put myself at the bottom of that list.

This is something I am actively trying to overcome. It is actually much harder, it turns out, to consistently pour kindness and joy into the world if you don’t take some time to pour it into yourself.

So this week I challenge you o do something for yourself. Maybe you enjoy curling up in a comfy armchair and reading a book. Maybe there is a hobby you have that brings you joy that you have been neglecting. Perhaps you never make your favourite meal because you’re the only one in your family who really loves it. Maybe you have a dear friend you have been meaning to catch up with, but there is just never time. Pick one thing this week, and gift it to yourself.

Because sometimes it is easier to be kind to everyone around you than it is to be kind to yourself. So this is my challenge. Do something just for you.

Then come tell me about it. :)
